Robert B. Jacobs helps parties settle disputes by focusing early on key issues. Parties who mediate with him find he is both fair and persuasive. A mediator who is quick on his feet, Jacobs identifies party wants and needs early in the settlement process and then effectively addresses them to arrive at a settlement that is acceptable to all. He uses both facilitative and evaluative mediation approaches in order to reach complete settlement.
During the course of his 30 years of litigation experience, Jacobs has represented individuals and companies as plaintiffs and defendants in commercial and residential contract, fraud, nonperformance, specific performance, business tort, misrepresentation, nonpayment, foreclosure, partition, construction defect, mechanic’s lien, change order, quiet title, leasing, landlord/tenant, franchise, broker negligence and partnership dispute claims.
Jacobs graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University where he also received his Juris Doctor degree in 1987. He received top-tier mediation training at the Chicago campus of Northwestern University, as well as from the California Association of Realtors and California Lawyers for the Arts.
Jacobs travels throughout the Bay Area in mediating cases involving individuals and small, medium and large businesses.
Jacobs is a fellow with the Construction Lawyers Society of America.
